Careful: Banks are watching

advertisement

They know about that morning coffee and Danish you bought with a debit card.

They also know about the money you transferred from an online savings account to your local checking account.

And if, by chance, you wired cash to a shell company fronting for a prostitution ring — they definitely know about that.

Every day, banks and other financial institutions monitor hundreds of millions of transactions, looking for unusual patterns that could be a sign of anything from money laundering to terrorism financing to identity theft.

The scrutiny, which intensified after Sept. 11, 2001, extends to every customer, from the guy with $150 in his checking account to the governor of New York.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

have you never purchased anything that could make you look bad if you didn't explain them?
how about them books, all works of fiction?
never bought any groceries that could look bad when looked at together? bananas and ky gel
rat poison and baby food
I'm just saying if I have enough info about you.. I can make you look like satan by taking selected parts out of context.

you do know 4 arab teens were busted for terrorism (later overthrown), and the main evidence against them was a video of their adventures in disney world that was too touristy to be the real thing. ANd they were convicted based on the testimoney of homeland security experts pointing out how they knew the video was fake.. saying things like~"you see the trash can in the back ground, they are filmig it on purpose, they are just acting like they are goofing off, they are really filming the trash can"(not a quote I have to look at the transcripts agin but it was like that) point is youc an have something completely innocent twisted into a way to convict you of something you didn't do,

You aren't kidding if you added up the stuff I buy you might think anything is possible out of it with a little imagination. That is the scary part as its so easy to take things way out of context. We had the FBI looking for a couple guys here in Seattle because people were reporting that they were taking "suspicious pictures" of the ferry boats so of course the idea was there were going to plant a bomb next. Nope their uncle is a Ferry Boat captain and like Ferry boat pictures from around the world....

Any transaction that is deemed suspicious is watched, this would be transactions involving cash of over $3K a day, up to 10K, this is reported by the standard Currency Transaction Report.

The Patriot Act put a huge burden on banks and required the creation of BSA Officers as well as SAR Committees, more work, software, etc.

Thank your congressmen... banks hate the additional work involved.

Would you care to elaborate?

Sure. The U.S and Canadian Constitutions both state that only the Government may print and issue currency.

The Federal Reserve is a bank - not a Government agency

The Bank of Canada is a bank - not a Government agency

So, our governments gave away the power to print and issue currency to private banks. Which basically put them in control of everything in 1913.

The Banks tricked them into it, by creating a crisis to which they could implement their solution - The Fed.

Now, the fractional reserve banking system and Fiat monetary system is allowing these banks to print money out of debt, or basically create as much money as they want, when they want, with nothing liquid to back it up.

Eventually the system will crumble. It is designed that way. They know the system WILL crash, so they use those instances for their own gain. The next crisis may see the creation of a new currency for North America for instance.

Thats what they do.

Problem.
Reaction.
Solution.

Create the problem, to get the reaction, in order to justify the solution.

That's why they don't teach the money system is schools in North America.

You make some pretty grave accusations. Did you figure this out on your own or can you provide us with references?

Why don't we just ask RebelGirl, she seems to know everything...

Rebel why don't you fill us in with your "Executive knowledge" and tell us all how much a bank can loan out compared to what they're holding? Is it 7-1? 9-1? Meaning, if the bank has $1000 in their safe, they can legally loan out $7000.

Is a bank allowed to loan more money than it has? Yes! How much more? Where does it come from?

Furthermore, why don't you explain what the phrase printed on the dollar means...

"This note is legal tender for all debts public and private".

Here is a good little movie about money. It has a lot of pretty colors in it, to keep some of you interested.

The colors are cute, thanks, however it follows the exact same format as all the films that happen to come out of the Cowichan Citizens Coalition, The 911 plots, the Starbucks plots, their special "EYE-OPENER FILM series" which sometimes are a bit far out for some people.

I would guess for the majority of persons in the banking business and the ones that designed the bills if you asked them what "printed on the dollar" means, your going to hear, "In God we Trust"

However everyone has a different view of course of things around here.

Sorry for the delay. I thought my comment covered it.

OK thanks, just ordered it off their web site, on sale for $1 ! I did not know that was a Aaron Russo film, he was a good guy.

Thats too bad. I could have saved you the dollar!!

The full movie is here for free.

I think you can answer my few questions here..now. You owe me that at least, since you decided to insult my intelligence by labeling me as some kind of alien conspiracy nut.

Please answer, it shouldn't take you more then 2 minutes.

That's why, excepting Bill Pay for the mortgage, car, and utilities, I withdraw cash from the ATM to make the bulk of my purchases. It's none of the government's nor the bank's business where or how I spend my money.

The connection between class tyranny and police state despotism is always connected as one relationship. The whole system is rigged to pay their middle class mercenaries, thugs, that keep them in power, through class hiearchies, and ideological thugs, seen right here on Newsvine, to justify a rotten class system. The class state is the result of classes, and not the other way around. Excessive Libertarian concern about "Big Government", focusing only on tax systems, or on monetary manipulations, while leaving out the focus on social wealth mechanisms is why we have this ugly marriage between corrporate and state police relations, corporate fasicsm.

The fact that social wealth is used for class purposes, through the deformation of the social wealth principle, can be seen though its deformed and ideological middle class apologists, who argue that commercial capitalism, financial monetary principles are the essence of a neutral economy, when in fact it was the basis of unpaid labor, slavery, tiered systems of cheaper labor, women and minorities, to set up this financial criminal enterprise. The fact that the argument is still being made that class systems reproduce social wealth, instead of deformed class wealth, can be seen by the way the middle class has internalized class terms, like profit as pure socialized wealth, neutral and apolitical, shows they have no clue how a monetary system is itself a class mechanism, that reproduces both the neutral measuring unit, money, alongside profit, associated falsely with neutral wealth.

Thus social wealth always exists in all economies, but its social principle of wealth has been reconstructed under class rules of engagement. Capitalists are not against socialism, as they use that socialism, social wealth principle to arrange unequal rates of exchange i.e. unpaid social wealth, from the masses, to themselves. That is why Kar Marx said that property rights argued falsely as universal, in fact was an argument of using property rights to deny property rights of others, through class relations. Thus when the Banks use the social wealth, taxes from the public, from the Bank of last resort, the Feds, social wealth, to prop up failed, bankrupted class wealth, through our social wealth, they in fact have used our wealth to prop up class desptoism, hence the phrase Socialism for the Rich.
That is the definition of class power, as this extreme attempt to save corporate, financial banks, is exactly how Capitalism functions, since its institutionalization through the class state, Western failed democratic revolution, under Napoleon, who set up the class laws, and commercial capitalism within democratic revolutions, that now subordinated democracy, social wealth for class power, and the class state. Commercial capitalism, financial systems, monetary manipulations, are the esseence of both class power, and the class state through police agents, deformed middle class elites.

Yeap. One of those things you have to be careful. There was a story that I think was about State Farm and a person that had insurance with them as a non-smoker which of course gives you a better rate. He was shocked to see a rate increase and called them up to find that he had been moved up to a smokers policy. It was based on a Bank Charge record on his debit card at the drug store for buying cigarettes ! Now that is very creepy. I asked my insurance company if that could happen or if they do it and they said "not really" but never said no either.

That is a good point sushicat... People don't really have a choice, you can't do much without a bank account. Cash is becoming less and less common for payment, unless you are in the illegal drug market or dealing with small change to buy a candy bar or tip the valet.

You have to have a checking account in this world.

BUT, What if everyone pulled their money out of the bank (not enough money there actually) and started using cash all the time? The banks would not be making money off of your money anymore and they would be out of biz, and therefore out of my own biz. Oh well. Thanks for spying on me and reporting my financial activity to the gov't, @!$%#s.

Sorry Tedd but that's simply not true. There are any number of federal oversight agencies that regulate banks, s & ls and credit unions. Credit union oversight falls within the purview of the NCUA. And indeed accounts of $100,000.00 or less are federally insured by the FDIC just as are accounts in other similar institutions. Further, credit unions are subject to the same requests and reporting standards vis-a-vis suspected money laundering, etc. as are other financial institutions per their regulations.

OK to hate the banks but they are filing reports because it's a government requirement. Following 911 banks that were non-compliant in filing AntiMoney Laundering (AML) reports or Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) were hit with substantial fines. If your banking, casino, or investment accounts trigger a report they are forbidden to notify you of such a report. If the report is investigated your assets may be frozen without your knowledge during the investigation. The Treasury Dept has a policing branch to conduct investigations (see FinCEN).

This is another unmarked vehicle policing system. It's plain offensive to me. If you are going to put me on a suspicion list at least notify me. Considering Spitzer's situation I have to wonder if he will dig into this further.

Profiling will cast almost anyone in a bad light at sometime or another.

Shall we profile those who implemented this policy? No doubt more will be found than a few extra dollars in some middle class wallet.

It helps to be a bit paranoid. I've lived my entire life under the assumption that every electronic transaction I make is being tracked. It doesn't affect my purchases, I am who I am, I'll buy what I want. But I do use the occasional money order from time to time. Of course, if you're placing an order on the Internet, that's not really a valid work-around, because records will still exist. If you can find what you want locally, best to withdraw some cash and pay that way ... though I wonder how long that will be an option. How long until everything is digital, and paper cash and coins are a thing of the past?

I have heard of people using stamps to pay for some transactions, as they are marked for a fixed value. And just lately I talked to someone who asks to be paid in blank postal money orders, so he can fill them in to pay for his bills...

I know a number of people that are cash only, for everything or if they have to have a credit card, they buy those pre-paid ones at the grocery or drug store. Sounds like alot of work, but does not leave a paper trail either.

In something not particularly germane to this thread but of interest is the fact that some establishments here in DC, following a similar trend in NYC, are now accepting payment in Euros particularly if the proprietors are planning a trip across the pond as stockpiling them given current trends is a useful hedge. Nothing illegal about it unless one also gives change in European currency.

Ayn Rand was an overrated provacateur of no proximate literary or philosophical worth whose own demand of slavish adherence was something of a cult. Her legacy lives on though with college sophomores and some of the more feverish swamps of the libertarian right.

This detailed monitoring can be used to your advantage too. For example, I buy Magnum XL condoms with my debit card, then report the card lost/stolen. When I go in to the bank to request a new card, I pick the hottest teller and ask her to review my account for suspicious activity, but confirm that no purchases were fraudulent. It's usually good for 1 date per branch location ;)

For the tougher cases, it's also wise to take out a zero-interest credit card loan and drop an extra $10,000 into the account around that time so your balance is about $10,049 or so. Then pay it back before you hit the interest period. If you're feeling extra bold, you can use the "lost card" excuse so she will cover dinner and drinks, or even some gas money or cab fare.

    ;)

Yeah but isn't it kinda embarrassing when you tell that hot teller exactly how you lost your bank card ?

Kari (Red Head, Hot Teller): "Good Morning sirmonkey, another lost bankcard today ? And may I ask how you lost this one ?"

sirmonkey: "Well there was this girl and when I woke up, my pants were gone, so was my shirt, I went to call the police, but she got my cell phone, so I decided to drive to the police station, but she got my new Porsche also"

And here I thought Doug Butabi was a fictional character.

Credit Vixen: Doug, swipe the card.

Doug: Swipe it? OK i'll swipe it. Is that nice? Does that feel good? Cuz i could swipe it aaaallll night.

sirmonkey ... seriously, you expect us to believe you actually do that? Report your card stolen just so you can get a date? Dude, that's pretty pathetic and desperate, and more like something I would see in a movie than something someone would actually do. Also, in the real world it wouldn't work, because the alleged purchase of Magnum condoms wouldn't show up as "Magnum Condoms" on your statement ... it would show up as "Walgreen drug CNX3456YTT Syracuse NY" or some such. The low level teller at the bank wouldn't have that information. Trust me, I've been the victim of credit card fraud before, and the teller couldn't tell me WHAT was purchased, just how much and where.

While it was evident that you weren't being factual, it wasn't entirely evident that you were joking. Usually, one indicates a joke online with "j/k" or "[/sarcasm]"

Those that express anxiety? The tellers don't have access to that information. The government and big wigs at the bank could very easily find out what those purchases were.

You're starting to get a little creepy with the following me around here on the vine. Please find a new friend.

Excuse me? My comment tracker is alerting me that people have commented in threads in which I have already commented ... that's what the comment tracker does. You're the creepy one. Writing creepy, creepazoid stories about picking up bank tellers in the creepiest possible way, and then expanding on your story by suggesting ways to get the low-paid bank tellers to foot the bill for your date. If that's not creepy, then Miriam-Webster needs to change their definition.

Not just transfers. Everything you buy with a credit card... every book, video, MP3, CD, etc. Not to mention everything we write on Newsvine, MySpace, Yahoo, Hotmail, et al.

Then add in that our wonderful new, colorful cash has metalic strands and serial numbers. It won't be long before every cash transaction will be tracked as well.

I don't exactly buy into some of the conspiracy threories going around about this sort of thing. The majority of it at this point, I still believe is to figure out how to sell us @!$%# that we don't need or want. However, the potential of what we are discussing combined with the policies put in place after 9/11 makes for some scary scenarios.

I am sure as innocent as my ramblings are on this site, there are folks on the right who would see me thrown in jail for my thoughts. Funny, aren't they the ones always railing about the dangers of big government?

I don't freak out about this stuff, but what does give me a little worry sometime is not the overt stuff. It is the, "So, you read the Dawkins book about Atheism and the biography of Mao in the same year. You are a danger to our society, and we don't want you teaching our young men and women."

It seems like every time I tune into one of the conservative talking heads, there is some attack on academia, intellectualism, universities. There kind of like Nazis.

I had to go thru a security checkpoint years ago when I was flying out to Micronesia on a company trip and I was at the Guam airport and all of a sudden this loud bell went off and within about 15 seconds I had maybe 10 armed security police with rifles pointed at me.

My bags had a roll of 300 ft of thick wire (To set up a Amateur Radio Antenna), 4 long tubes containing 4 ea D batteries (Part of a power supply) , two clocks (one alarm clock for me, the other was a gift) and a High Voltage Probe that fits on a Voltmeter (looked like a raygun to the security guys)

So...they were sure I had enough wire, a couple sticks of TNT and batteries to blow up the plane....That one took some explaining !

Sorry. I should have been more specific, but I was trying to be terse and avoid a distraction! Certainly, I goofed royally in that regard! Just talking about how quickly or slowly one reaches the "Conservatives are Nazis" cliche:

It seems like every time I tune into one of the conservative talking heads, there is some attack on academia, intellectualism, universities. There kind of like Nazis.

I "did time" @ UC Berkeley, so it became a sport for me to count how many times a day things were identified as Nazi encroachments. Campus police, admission policy changes, Reagan, Bush, Livermore Labs researchers, Bank of America, me, etc. etc. etc.

True. Yet what I saw early on there (that seemed "unique" at the time), was very shortly prevalent elsewhere (actually I was also hanging at Stanford a bit, back then, which was not identical to Berkeley, but had some surprising similarities too).

It is surprising to me, actually. My experience there was incredibly tame compared to what is prevalent nowadays elsewhere, and reaching kids at younger ages.

Sorry to be so cliche. I guess I could go the other way and say Maoist, as well, in all fairness. I am not a paranoid goob, nor do I think I have the power to change any of this @!$%#. I also do not think that I am important enough to be harassed or jailed or oppressed. I also think that we enjoy so much freedom that if there were some attempt to control us to the degree the Nazi's did, there would be a bloodbath.

On the otherhand, we have a constant media stream of misinformation via AM radio and Fox news. We have a massive amount of people who are incarcerated, and since private industry now runs prisons, there is a need to increase those numbers. Everything seems to be reduced to a slogan, and there seems to be an assualt on analytical thinking. Sorry to be cliche again, but this is what happened when Hitler took power. This is how he took power. I am certain that the likes of Carl Rove and every other strategist and marketing expert have read the Hitler playbook or at least stolen a page or two.

I repeat. I think all this is in place to pump the market. To get us to buy @!$%#... But, I also think with things like they are and the systems of checks and balances eroded, there is potential for a pretty ugly stretch in our history. There is certainly ample precedent. But, hey, sorry to be cliche. If you want to boil a frog, heat the water slowly. If it gets too hot too quick, he'll jump out.

                The affirmation is i=human.

Some conservatives are Nazis. Some Nazis are conservatives. Not all but some. Dig?

Some liberals are Stalinists. Some Stalanists are liberals. Not all but some. Getting the picture now?

It's really just the age old debate about our (our=human) fatal obsession with totalitarianism.

See quote from MinnieAppolis for more information.

If you review what I have said thus far you will see tactics=Nazi. Now the ones using these tactics of which I speak happen to be Republican. Certainly, to my knowledge Mitt never outed any CIA operatives. So, I don't consider him a Nazi. He may be. I don't know. I don't think Carl Rove wears swastikas, but I do think that he uses tactics that the Nazis pioneered. Anyway, I hope that you understand now what I have said.

Hitler (evil bastard that he was) used the media brilliantly. Sloganism was a big part of his propaganda machine. Read about the "Degenerate Art" Exhibition, and you will see for yourself how the Nazi-party used anti-intellectualism to garner power. I certainly see Tucker and others @!$%#in' about those liberal universities bad-mouthing American (instead of promoting an experience that challenged his values and misconceptions and made him who he is). I certainly see Fox having so-called experts analyzing the degree to which Hillary's left shoulder slumps when she says the word tax.

Now I am no historian, but I know these things to be true. And, the things I hear in the media are similar to those... I'm tired of explaining. If you don't get where I coming from, you haven't been around me enough. I think you're just trying to pick fights anyway. So, go ahead and pull something else I have written out of context so we argue about this bull@!$%# instead of addressing the issues in the article.

Banks also sell off certan bits of that information to marketing companies to "better provide information" make it harder to avoid lame ads,and see what you buy, when and how often you buy them. It's more convenient and people are more willing to let it go if they think it is for 'terrorism". In reality that's only a small portion of why - and then they charge you for that anyway... It's part of why I usually only deal in cash.

                  Shawn,

This is common among all companies, at account opening and on a yearly basis you have the ability to opt out via the privacy notice. Contact your bank and ask them to take you off this list.

Most credit card companies, insurance companies, grocery stores, etc., have this practice. Banks are requried to give you the option to opt out of information sharing.

I have tried, unsuccessfully, to opt out from an insurance (quack ;) company sharing my information. I don't know what info they have but I do know that insurance companies have access to a great amount of personal data.

The Privacy Notice - their guidelines for sharing info on me - was sent to me with the regular billing. It included the stated opportunity for me to opt out of having them share my data. After following procedures described to opt out I received another form that was to be filled in and returned. I returned that form and later followed up with a call to confirm my option to opt out had been processed. I was told that I would need to opt out each time I made a payment because their system treated each payment as a renewal, that they think the sharing is beneficial to their customers, that it is time consuming and cumbersome to confirm privacy, that privacy would apply to some of my data because of the need to exchange for regular business purposes but might exclude data transfers to certain non-affiliates... and so on to my exhaustion.

I didn't know what data they had or if they actually resisted sharing my info. The experience left me thinking the requirement to extend the opt-out opportunity was a sort of feel good measure but that the data mine was too deep for an ordinary consumer to plumb.

I also have a question for RebelGirl :o)

How are the SARs generated? Is it the same type of processing that leads credit card companies to find suspicious activity on accounts?

Most banks have a committee, we have software that has thresholds and triggers, they are brought before the committee and if they are severe enough, or questionable enough, then the SAR's are filed without anyone else's knowledge, i.e. the customer, or the lender on the account. Kiting is also another reason for a SAR to be filed.

SAR's are not that common, but red flags are followed up on.

The banks know so much about you, but I gotta tell you this story about a former co-worker. This was back in the '90's sometime, so possibly security precautions are a wee bit more sophisticated.
This co-worker had some money stolen from him by a brother of his who had been visiting him for a while in town. When the brother flies back home to Arkansas, he finds that some money is mysteriously missing from his bank account. The brother had stolen a check, written it out to something like $500 or whatever it was for plane ticket home and misc, and cashed it at the bank.
Well! How could that happen? Oh, did I mention that these brothers are black??? And oh, possibly most bank personnel are white and can't tell one black guy from another especially if they are related and have some features in common. So anyway, this guy had to talk to the bank officer and the bank SHOWS HIM THE VIDEOTAPE OF HIS BROTHER cashing the check. The guy looks at it, and says, "Yep, that's my brother."
The bank wound up having to cover the loss and restored the amount of money to his account. The bank asked if he wanted to press charges and he told them no, the brother was not only chewed out by his mother but was arrested in Arkansas on another charge. (Nice brother, hunh?)
Well, all's well that ends well, at least for the Midwestern brother.

very cell phone call, text message and email is traced

                    Slight correction,,,,

I am not the worried one as I am pretty aware of what gets traced already, I kinda work in that field :-)

I was just giving you a little bit of a hard time as I don't know what the banks involvement is. I have spent a fair bundle between the Apple Store (some online, some at the retail store) and Best Buy getting a 24" iMac and a MacBook Pro laptop and a fancy Canon printer so I can do the wide 13*19 format photos I like to do and those printers are pricey, so I was curious. I let Bill buy his own toys....or let him get me toys, that is way more fun.

Decided to dump the jihad buddies, wearing that turbine head thing screwed up my hair so bad I always looked like Dennis the Menace, so no problem there..

Actually there are decent deals on macs right now as they just came out with new ones, they are so much more fun, especially with a awesome 24" screen.

Yeah I laugh at all the paranoia that is going around right now, its crazy !

No, I am on the good side, one of my sideline tasks is to help out companies and others to track down spammers and shut down their sites as they can cause all kinds of problems from stalking to ID theft to putting small companies out of business. Sometimes the leads for them come in via Software and hardware purchase's as they are always guying new toys. I have also had to testify against some of the not so nice stalkers that go after little kids and stuff. I have a daughter and I hate to see that junk going on.

So if that is bad, I guess you can rage at me...

                    okay, you're a good guy :-)

I just don't like it when people who are seemingly "in the know" (not necessarily talking about you here) about any particular thing that is extremely important, post here on Newsvine in little snippets and hints, when what we all really need is solid information to combat the sneakiness of the world we live in now. That explains the tone of my posts on this particular thread.

What we need here on Newsvine are people who truly work on the inside -- of government agencies, banks, cell phone companies, cable companies, and so on -- but whose loyalties lie with us regular people, and who are brave enough to come on here anonymously and inform us. Knowledge is power. We need some power.

My normal Job, is in International Satellite Communications. That ends up taking me many different places, both physical and contact area's. The Spammer hunting is via working with Microsoft these days. I did work at GTE (Telephone and Satellite Company and Cell phones) so that is also what I have done. And yes, I have that evil dark side of my past government life also that did work for those somewhat hidden away ummm three letter agencies...You will find out, I don't make up stories, either I know what I am doing or simple say I am not sure and usually try to find a answer, but I do not pretend to be a expert in everything, I don't feel that is right nor fair to anyone.

My loyalties are with normal people however :-)

Me too, on the surface, one can get my trust without too much work, but real trust take time and some effort on both parts and something that is very important to me.

I have tended to trust to fast in the past and that can cause some very major hurt and pain.

Anyone know if a court can subpoena a supermarket discount card database? Or if in the "contract" for such a card, one has essentially yielded the right to any expectation of privacy?

                    supermarket discount card database

Those are sold all the time to marketing agencies and not any problem getting them, However getting them with matching customer data does require a court order in most cases. However there has been some very poor management of those records in the past, especially with the mass buy outs of the grocery chains.

Some have recommended pooling & swapping the cards so as to "confuse" the data mining that is done with them. It is an interesting link in that when used, it can span "cash" and "credit" purchases, can't it.

Personally, I just use the things and willfully give up my "privacy". I think I've saved about $28.82 so far. Not a bad trade for my personal liberties ;)

This is very much along the same lines as bank 'spying' on personal records -- just seeded something very interesting about the new cellphones will have RFID tags in them. This enables you to pay by waving your phone at a scanner but also allows someone to track you up to 300' away. This is nutso. Story is here if interested --

You know I like quiet, so I don't have a cell phone anymore. And I returned to a landline phone with an old fashion recording that I use to screen all my calls. Even the tele marketers don't call anymore as all they get is a recording. If I'm out and about I really don't want to be bothered by talking to someone on a phone. If I need a phone there is usually someone, a business, a place where I can use a phone. And now for that reason in comment #23 is another good reason why I don't have a cell phone.

I know some of ya'll just need them

According to that bank update, if your name is not AL JABBURY, Mashaan Rakadh Dhamin (a.k.a. AL JABOURI, Meshan Thamin; a.k.a. AL JABOURI,
You should be OK, however if someone by that name wants you to cash a check for him, I would probably run off somewhere. If your name IS Al Jabbury, I would probably change it pretty soon.
